The course is a postgraduate course, with main aim to introduce and develop methods of analysis, from fundamental principles, to fluids flow and the applicability to a wide range of spatial scales, from cellular to atmospheric. The main aim of the course is to link (mathematical) formalism with understanding the physics of flow. The course adds on the basic undergraduate courses - Transfer Phenomena I: Fluid Mechanics and Transfer Phenomena II: Heat and Mass Transfer - but also others that cover fluid flow phenomena and processes, such as Electromechanical Processes Equipment, Physical Processes Engineering and Chemical Processes Engineering. Theoretical teaching is combined with computational exercises. The course covers the following units: Vector and tensor calculus and continuous medium theory. Differential flow analysis. Flow-transfer problems analysis with methods of split variables, similarity transformations, perturbation theory and order-size theory. Limit Flow Analysis - Differential and Integral. Combined transport phenomena analysis - flow (inference)/diffusion/chemical reaction.
